3 Hour Sandtray workshop: Using Sandtray pleay Therapy with Families

This will three-hour experiential workshop will introduce you to the world of Sandplay Therapy. Sandtray therapy is a wonderful non-directive technique that can be used with children, teens and adults, families and couples.

The learning objectives for this workshop are:

1. Identify the therapeutic value of sandtray as a powerful technique to incorporate into therapy with families

2. Participants will review the attachment-based theories in relation to working with families using sandtray play therapy.

3. Participants of this workshop will discuss the application of Sandtray play therapy as it pertains to attachment-based work with families.

4. Participants will Identify the therapeutic value of sandtray as a powerful technique to incorporate into therapy with families.

5. Participants will be able to demonstrate the process of creating sand trays with families and adults using sandtray play therapy.

6. Participants will be able to review the symbolism and themes used to reflect on the client's work in play therapy sessions.

After you watch the entire workshop and completed the required evaluation you will receive a certificate for 3 play therapy contact hours.

Play Therapy credit will only be given to mental health professionals, at registration you will need to share your license and degree. Graduate students in mental health programs can register for the student rate but must show proof of being in a current program.

There are no refunds for this workshop. If you are unable to attend you may attend a 3-hour workshop or webinar within 3 months of the date of the workshop or webinar.

Sabra Starnes is a Clinical Social Worker who has been practicing for 21 years in the DMV area. She worked for 13 years in the District of Columbia Public School System as a School Social Worker.

She is the founder of Next Place Therapy Services a private practice that has offices in Largo, Maryland and Washington, DC.

She became a Registered Play Therapist in 2003. And a Registered Play Therapist Supervisor in 2015. She presents both in person and online play therapy training towards becoming a Registered Play Therapist.

Sabra's training still is engaging, humorous and fun. She has a strong passion for educating and supporting clinicians to become effective and highly skilled play therapists.

She is strong and active in promoting play therapy through having meEt and greets, networking, selling of her own play therapy products.

Sabra believes in the power of play and that play can heal children, familie, and adults who are dealing with life challenges.
